Here is the newest addition to our Home Arts Projects! This project will be taught Friday at 2:00 by Becky Maxwell. This yo yo brooch is really easy and very fun to make. It just takes a little bit of super simple hand sewing and it really is cute on. All materials will be provided.

This project will be taught Thursday Evening for those who come early to help set up and get ready. I think they will be lovely to wear during the EXPO! It is easy to make out of Crepe Paper. I will bring safety pins so those who wish to wear theirs can do so!

Learn to Knit with Collette Perry and Nicole Orton
Saturday at 11:00 in the Board Room
This class is for people who want to learn how to knit. We will be making a basic coaster. We have lots of yarn and knitting needles for you to use. You can keep your yarn and bring it around the expo with you but if you want to have knitting needles to use outside of this class you should bring them yourself. They are very inexpensive and easy to find at any craft store. We will be using a size 7, 8, or 9 needles.
If you need a knit refresher this class is also for you! If any of you want to take your knitting to the next step we can do that if time allows. All of you are invited to join us in the last session of each day to work on our projects and get help in the areas you are interested in learning more!

Crewel Embroidery with Collette Perry and Beth Foster
Sunday at 11:00 in the Board Room
We will be making a sampler. It is a type of embroidery in which the stitches are done the traditional way. What is unique about Crewel is that you draw your design right on the fabric and it is done with wool yarn rather than ribbon or floss! Here is the sampler we will be doing. Each one will look different as we will each draw the design ourselves.
All of you are invited to join us in the last session of each day to work on our projects and get help in the areas you are interested in learning more!

Kuminimo or Japanese Braiding with Collette Perry
Saturday at 2:00 in the Board Room
This is a really fun technique of braiding traditionally done on a wooden stand called a "marudai". We are going to do it on a piece of cardboard. It works very well. It is fairly simple, you only have to remember a few rules. I have pictured two bracelets I made using this technique. In class you can choose to make a bracelet (more complicated) or a key chain (easier).
All of you are invited to join us in the last session of each day to work on our projects and get help in the areas you are interested in learning more!
